Today, i'm going to tell you a story about Dala horse.
It was very very long time ago, the horse has been considered a holy animal since the viking times. A man who was a woodcutter lived in Dalarna, Sweden. These lovely men would spend their evenings away from their families and passed their time by carving little toys for their children.
The bright, happy little animal as we now know the Dala Horse probably originated in the 1700's.
Over the years the hand-carved and painted,
Dala Horse has become a symbol of authentic Swedish handicraft
and one of Sweden's most popular souvenirs.
